Inquiry and Concept-Based Learning
Our Values
The purpose of the Inquiry and Concept-Based Learning special interest group is to create a collaborative space for educators to share knowledge and strategies for designing and implementing inquiry and concept-based learning. The group explores how inquiry and concept-based approaches support deep and transferable learning across various contexts, with a focus on supporting educators in translating theory into practical classroom strategies.
Supporting Our Colleagues
- Explore the what and why of inquiry and concept-based learning, and how they work together to support meaningful learning.
- Share practical strategies and classroom examples that support planning for and teaching concept-based learning.
- Explore the role of concepts in learning, and practical ways to support students in learning concepts as a foundation for deep and transferable learning.
- Explore how conceptual understanding leads to transfer, supporting students to apply learning in new and unfamiliar contexts.
