The Nuts and Bolts of Middle Leadership, London: 22 September

09:00-15:30, The Stanley Building, St Pancras, London
Facilitators: Iain Henderson and Helen Morgan

In Collaboration with Wellington College and The Bridge

ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP

Middle leadership is where strategy meets action; where school priorities turn into everyday impact. The Nuts and Bolts of Middle Leadership is a dynamic, one-day course designed to give aspiring and current middle leaders the clarity, confidence, and practical tools to lead effectively from the middle.

We’ll explore what middle leadership really is, beyond job titles and to-do lists, and why it plays a critical role in driving school culture, teaching quality, and student outcomes. You’ll learn how to lead purposeful meetings that people actually want to attend, and how to line manage with both empathy and accountability.

Finally, we’ll tackle the toughest part of the role: how to hold difficult conversations that strengthen your team. Expect hands-on strategies, real scenarios, and space to reflect on your own leadership journey.

Whether you’re new to the role or looking to sharpen your toolkit, this course will leave you with a solid foundation, and a few bolts tightened, for leading with impact.
