From First Grade to Future Leaders: Nurturing Agile Leaders for Retirement in 2085: 14 May

Welcome to our webinar on leading in a complex context, nurturing learners at Changchun American International School. As we envision the learning journey that our current kindergarten students will make before retirement in 2085, we explore the remarkable school leadership of Ildiko Murray, the Head of School at Changchun American International School. Amidst the challenges of a pandemic, with a drop in student numbers swiftly followed by the resurgence to 530 students to date and a projected 600 by August 2024, Ildiko’s educational team navigated the challenges with resilience and vision.

Situated in the vibrant city of Changchun, which has a population of 9 million and a rich tertiary education landscape, CAIS stands as a beacon of multicultural education. With a distinct Chinese school alongside the international school, CAIS offers a continuum IB programme and is accredited by CIS and WASC. By cultivating a diverse faculty reflective of the student body, the school ensures that every child receives an education tailored to their individual needs and aspirations. The learning focus extends beyond traditional learning paradigms to encompass collaboration, co-creation, project-based learning, and the integration of cutting-edge technologies, like AR/VR and XR immersive learning environments ushering in the age of AI in inquiry-based learning. Join us for this conversation as we explore how education is evolving to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and mindset needed for success in an ever-changing world.
