International schools recognize the significance of cultural competency in our interactions with diverse students. This webinar explores the research on culture matching and provides practical insights through real-life case studies in international school settings. We will prioritize student perspectives to gain deeper insights into our students’ unique needs and challenges.

Participants will acquire a 360-degree tool for assessing their cultural competence and humility. Through theoretical understanding and practical strategies, you’ll develop cultural humility and strategies for fostering inclusive schools.

 

DR CHRISTINA LIMBIRD Christina is the co-founder of Linden Global Learning Support – a learning support agency dedicated to equipping and empowering schools to become inclusion champions by providing expert services for struggling learners around the world.  She has over 20 years of experience in educational psychology and school consulting. Her career highlights include spearheading an exemplary comprehensive program of inclusion at an International Baccalaureate school in Germany, and creating two award-winning non-profits for teenagers: a peace and community-building program for teens in post-conflict Croatia and Girls Gearing Up, a premier international leadership academy for teen girls with hubs in India, Germany and Malawi.Underpinning her work with schools and young people is Dr. Limbird’s extensive research background in bilingualism and her firm belief in informing work in education with empirically sound evidence. She has published several articles and book chapters on the effects of bilingualism on literacy acquisition and school performanceCHINEME UGBOR

Chineme has over 15 years of experience in the education and international development sectors, acquired through diverse roles in Europe, the US, and West Africa. Her experience ranges from coordinating development programs in war-torn countries to running programs for teens previously caught up in the juvenile justice system in the US. With her diverse background, Chineme brings a unique perspective to a broad range of educational and developmental initiatives.Chineme serves on the board of various youth initiatives and regularly mentors young entrepreneurs and creatives. She is also the co-founder of Girls Gearing Up International Leadership Academy – an award-winning program with hubs in Germany, India and Malawi that empowers teen girls with leadership skills and an unwavering belief in their abilities.Chineme holds degrees in international relations and conflict studies, as well as diplomas in organizational development and life coaching. At Linden, she is responsible for brand management, partnerships, professional development, and is committed to fostering an inclusive culture grounded in innovation, excellence, and kindness.
