Inclusive Education SIG: Emotional Regulation Strategies for Neurodivergent Children: 08 April

Emotional regulation and the modulation of energy levels are often areas of challenge for children with autism. This workshop will provide educators with concrete strategies that respect the essence of the child while also helping them to learn new tools for regulating their own emotions and energy levels.
Dr. Blackwell is a facilitator with Northshore Learning. She is passionate about communication in all forms. She has had the opportunity to learn from a variety of people from diverse cultural backgrounds as she has lived and worked full time as a bilingual (English/Spanish) Speech Language Pathologist in Guatemala since 2013. She is also a professor at several North American universities. Dr. Blackwell loves to travel to collaborate with professionals in presentations, workshops, research, and autism identification.

Sessions will delve into practical strategies for UDL implementation, promoting student well-being, and strengthening student support teams.
