About this session
As educators, we rely on our parents as the experts in their child’s unique language profiles and as experts in the language(s) they speak with their child. Collaboration between parents and educators is essential in creating systems that cater to each individual’s language needs. By involving parents in the process, these multilingual systems can better reflect each student and their family’s unique language usage resulting in the development of effective tools and strategies. Having active parental engagement support the child, their teachers and the multilingual school community.
