A new school year offers an ideal opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the Head of School and the governing board. This practical, interactive webinar focuses on the core governance principles that most influence school quality, sustainability, and the board–head relationship, translating them into everyday board practice.

Whether you have completed the ECIS Governance Foundations course or are looking for a concise governance refresher, you’ll leave with practical ideas, tools and templates you can use immediately. Heads are especially encouraged to attend with their Board Chair, Owner, or fellow board members to establish a shared understanding and a common language for the year ahead. An optional final 30-minute session will focus on welcoming, orienting, and supporting new board members.

Dr David B. Hawley brings four decades of leadership in international education – as a teacher, head of school, and global learning advocate. Formerly Director General of the International School of Geneva and Chief Academic Officer of the International Baccalaureate, he now supports boards and school leaders worldwide through his consultancy and ECIS’s Leading Together programme.
