Session Description

Starting a new school year as a Middle or Teacher Leader can feel both exciting and demanding. Alongside establishing yourself in the role, you are expected to provide clarity, build relationships and create the conditions for colleagues to work effectively together.

This Middle Leader Café will explore the key priorities for the start of the school year. Participants will consider what needs to be accomplished with their teams, how to establish shared expectations and ways of working, and how to begin building a positive and purposeful team culture.

The session will provide practical strategies, protocols, and resources that leaders can immediately use to support collaboration and effective teaming. Participants will leave with a start-of-year toolkit to support them as they lead their teams with greater confidence and intention.

Participant Takeaways

  • Identify the key priorities and essential tasks to complete with their teams for the start of the school year.
  • Build a practical toolkit of strategies and protocols that promote shared expectations and effective teaming.
