If students meet the standards/learning outcomes, does it mean they understand the concepts behind them?

Most of us are required to refer to learning outcomes and standards. Sometimes we are overwhelmed by the amount of content to be covered, and the concepts get lost in the way. But we always forget that content and concepts depend on one another and exist within the same learning ecosystem.

In this session, we will explore:
– How knowledge, skills, and concepts work together to support conceptual learning
– The role of different types of concepts in planning and instruction
– How to identify subject-specific concepts within standards and learning outcomes
