Relational Pedagogy in Practice: Learning and Growing Side by Side: 06 November

14:00 (London time)

In this recorded ECIS conversation, Sarah Kupke speaks with Melany Mistrorigo, Relational Pedagogy Coach and SEL & Inclusion Specialist, about how relational pedagogy shapes parenting and learning within community-based schooling. This context shares some key values and strengths with international education: child-centeredness and hands-on project learning.  We’ll reflect on what happens when learning is centered around authentic relationships where children and adults grow side by side, dialogue replaces hierarchy, and emotional literacy is a fundamental part of the curriculum. This conversation invites international educators to explore social emotional education as a core tool for mutual growth and discovery.

Originally from Italy and internationally trained, Melanie is a passionate educator committed to relational pedagogy. With a Master of Education from Leeds Beckett University and professional experience across Europe, she specialises in social-emotional learning and inclusion. Melanie’s work with parents and educators focuses on shifting mindsets and  providing practical strategies to navigate emotional challenges. Guided by the belief that our relationship with ourselves and our environment is the foundation of all learning, she aims to inspire others to see education as a deeply human and connected journey.
