We will celebrate IWD 2024 (International Women’s Day)  ‘Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress’. This session will take a global and local view at how orgnisations can develop gender equitable approaches, from two CEOs working in the international education sector, including ECIS’s very own Executive Director! We will celebrate all that has been achieved, discuss our personal journeys, and provide opportunities to share and learn from each other. Come prepared to listen, share and contribute as we launch boldly into 2024.

FACILITATORS

Kam Chohan is the Executive Director for ECIS. With an impressive background in education and leadership, Kam is a learning leader and brings insight, wisdom, and compassion to the role. As an example of her commitment to student learning, Kam worked with the UK Government’s Behaviour Insights Team to apply the Nudge Theory to improve student outcomes on a national level. Kam holds qualifications and experience in Leadership and Professional Development. Kam is committed to social justice and equity through diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding in international education.

Liz Free is the CEO and Director of a leading an IB continuum school in the heart of Switzerland and was recently shortlisted for Headteacher/Principal of the Year for the 2024 TES International School Awards. She is a globally recognised educator with expertise leading some of the world’s most successful schools and in leading teacher professional learning at OUP, Oxford University and as founding Director of the International Leadership Academy in The Hague. Liz authored many publications and is also a founding trustee of the global charity WomenEd. As a visible school leader, Liz advocates for the profession and speaks around the world on the theme of leadership development, realising the potential of the profession and the global school workforce.
