How can we use conceptual understanding to bring more focus to the inquiry process? While inquiry and concept-based learning are often discussed separately, they work best as a cohesive approach to deepening student understanding. This session launches our new ECIS Special Interest Group (SIG) by creating a “Sandbox,” a collaborative space for educators to explore how these two approaches support one another in practice. We are building a community to share strategies that align conceptual rigor with the curiosity and agency of inquiry.
