Unlock your middle leadership potential and embark on a transformative learning journey hosted by St. George’s International School in Luxembourg. This 1.5-day professional learning experience focuses on the essential skills and strategies for building and leading effective teams in international school settings. 

“Building and Leading Teams” explores the dynamics of successful teamwork, including how to foster trust, manage group dynamics, and cultivate a positive team culture. Participants will examine practical approaches to collaboration, conflict resolution, and the use of protocols that empower middle leaders to guide their teams with clarity and confidence. 

Attendees will engage in reflective and interactive sessions designed to strengthen their leadership impact. The experience equips leaders with the tools and insights to create cohesive, purpose-driven teams that thrive in today’s diverse educational environments. 

  • All participants are requested to bring their laptops to the training.  
  • Earn a Middle Leader Certificate in Building and Leading Teams.
  • Participants are expected to attend the sessions on both days to earn the certificate.

Course Objectives:  

  • What are some characteristics of a highly functioning team? 
  • How can protocols, structures, and norms facilitate thinking and focus on student learning? 
  • How does intentionally building trust impact team performance? 
  • What types of conversations are critical, and when are they likely to occur? 
    • What processes and behaviours can be prepared in advance to promote “better” conversations? 

About the presenter

Nancy Lhoest-Squicciarini is Head of Middle Leader Certificate, facilitates the #ISLECISLoft and organizes the Middle Leader Café for ECIS.  As a facilitator, she has over fifteen years’ experience, was trainer for Principals’ Training Center Trainer for over decade and was Council of International Schools Evaluator Course instructor. Additionally, Nancy is member of the International Association of Facilitators. 

With 39 years of experience as an educator, her previous roles include being Head of Community Relations, Assistant Principal responsible for Teaching & Learning and Professional Learning, Chair of the ECIS Curriculum and Assessment Committee, Head of Department for IB Group 1, and a Middle School teacher. 

Nancy is a Trustee and Goal Strategic Leader for @WomenEd, a global grassroots movement that connects aspiring and existing women leaders in education. and one of the network Leaders for @WomenEdLux In 2022 and 2024, ISC Research recognized Nancy as an #Edruptor, a highly rated social media influencer within international education.
