The ECIS Global Pedagogy Certificate in Literacy in Education invites international educators to reimagine literacy as a powerful tool for identity, agency, and global understanding. In today’s multilingual, multicultural classrooms, literacy is more than reading and writing – it’s about making meaning, amplifying voice, and connecting across differences. Grounded in global pedagogy and informed by research, this course explores how inclusive, inquiry-driven, and culturally responsive literacy practices can ignite engagement and impact across the curriculum. Participants will examine how to embed authentic reading, writing, speaking, and listening opportunities across disciplines – recognising literacy as everyone’s responsibility, not just the language teacher’s. Through reflective dialogue and hands-on planning, educators will explore how to cultivate joyful reading and writing cultures, design purposeful and personalised literacy experiences, and empower all learners, especially multilingual students, as readers, writers, and thinkers.
