ECIS DAIGON Esports Competition: January & February 2026

ECIS DAIGON Esports Competition: January & February 2026

In partnership with DAIGON Esports, we are excited to invite schools to participate in our upcoming Esports Competition.

12 January – 02 February 2026 | Registration deadline: 17 December

On 02 February, students will have the opportunity to proudly represent their schools while competing against international peers in three online games: Minecraft Capture the Flag, Rocket League and Brawl Stars.

The ECISxDAIGON Esports Competition provides students with the chance to connect with peers from different countries, building friendships and expanding their global network. Esports offer a platform where all students can participate and compete equally. It encourages healthy interaction among students, even across long distances, and promotes teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication skills. As a global platform, this competition fosters a sense of community, empowering students to connect beyond borders and develop lasting relationships through shared passions.

With the growing number of students from all genders and backgrounds engaging in gaming, we’re excited to introduce a girls-only Rocket League team option this year. This new opportunity is designed to encourage more girls to explore and thrive in the world of esports, helping to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all participants. Students will also still be able to compete in a mixed-gender team for Rocket League.

ESPORTS COMPETITION – HOW IT WORKS, HOW TO REGISTER

Please email events@ecis.org with any questions regarding the registration form.

Minecraft ‘Capture the Flag’

  • Recommended for all age groups (U12 & 13)
  • Can be played across Windows, Mac, iPad, Chromebook and consoles
  • 5 players per team
  • Asynchronous to accommodate different time zones

To make Capture the Flag accessible and engaging for schools, we’ve developed an asynchronous competition format that mirrors our live tournament experience. This staged format allows students to participate flexibly while progressing through increasingly challenging gameplay scenarios.

The competition unfolds across four distinct modes:
Parkour – Players sharpen their movement and navigation skills by tackling timed jumping challenges across the map.
Attack – Students compete to capture the enemy’s flag, learning the most efficient routes and offensive strategies.
Defence – Participants are challenged to protect their base against simulated threats, testing their ability to anticipate and repel attacks.
Composite – A final, high-stakes mode where students must balance both attacking and defending objectives simultaneously-bridging the gap to live, head-to-head PvP play.
This format fosters competition, strategic thinking, and teamwork, all within a flexible framework ideal for school settings.
We will still have a ‘live final’ for Minecraft on Saturday 7th February for them to build on these skills and play live.
