In response to requests from member schools, we are introducing an “Early Career Teacher” cohort for international school teachers in the 2024/2025 school year. The intention is that on top of the induction and transition programmes schools provide themselves, the cohort will be an opportunity for community-building, peer coaching and research-informed professional learning, led by highly qualified and experienced teachers, Anja Junginger and Brianna Gray. They will be joined by special guests from the ECIS team, and the programme will incorporate a variety of substantive ECIS resources.
For early career teachers in international schools, ECIS will offer a comprehensive development programme spanning the 2024-2025 academic year, offering a blend of interactive learning, mentorship, and cohort engagement. Our mission is to equip new educators with the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary to navigate and excel in the diverse and dynamic environment of international education. This programme was designed in collaboration with a team of school leaders who are currently supporting teachers at a range of international schools.
Additionally, leaders of the teachers on the course will be invited to quarterly virtual “ECT Leadership Cafés.” There they will have an opportunity to learn more about the past and upcoming sessions and provide input to ensure the language and content align with the work in their schools.
This programme is for: teachers who are in the first few years of their teaching career, or teachers who may have experience in other types of schools but who are joining international schools for the first time. (It would not be suitable for those who are still undertaking teacher training.)
