ECIS Women in Education SIG Webinar: Wise leadership in a world of competing demands: 10 February

What to do when you don’t know what to do.

In this webinar we will explore the academic literature and findings of wisdom research and its application to international school leadership. Real world challenges facing school leaders will be discussed considered. The need for ethical leadership in times of competing demands will be discussed and ways of thinking and acting from a wisdom perspective will be shared through an emerging framework for school leaders.

Facilitator: Shireen Ali-Khan

Shireen’s commitment to international education spans almost two decades and is supported by her training as a psychologist. She has led projects on curriculum change across disciplines, teacher and leadership training, as well as training on workplace culture change within the international school environment. Shireen is a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, a network lead for WomenEd Switzerland, and is a regular speaker and presenter at international school conferences. She is an educational researcher and is currently focusing her academic writing on the subjects of wise leadership and workplace culture in international education. She is completing her PhD in this field and is creating a framework for wise leadership as part of her studies. The value and wisdom of women Shireen sees in international education, especially at the highest levels of leadership is one of the motivating factors that brings her to this Special Interest Group
